DeerLake Weekly Letter
May 9th, 2008

Mom you are my life, you are my heart.
You are the best mom in the world.

Roses are red, violets are blue, Happy Mother's Day to You.

God created a masterpiece like no other and simply called it Mother.

;';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';'

  Eyein the Bull.
Just look in them eyes-all red an’ mean,
horns juttin’ outta each side a his bean.

;';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';'

On this day called,
"Mother's Day."
Let all mother's on earth give praise,

;';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';';'

It wouldn't be Mother's Day without Mother's Day flowers.
In fact, Mother's Day requires only two things:
Mother's Day flowers, and endless appreciation for everything Mom does.

Thought for today - One is nearer God's Heart in a garden,
than anywhere else on earth.

May 2nd, 2008

Today is concrete day around here. Doing it all ourselves of course. One yard for part of a retaining wall, one yard for the air source heat pump pedestal. And two yards for a new floor in one of our out buildings. The fun part will be trying to add color to the concrete floor. The color is called a concrete hardener. We have two colors, a red and a brown and plan to have the colors mix together a bit. After the screed process, the dry color hardener is thrown or spread out as best you can. Then during the float and trowel process the color gets mixed into the top layer of concrete. Wish us luck.

Have fun with this week's new pages.

Airline Humor.
All too rarely these days, do we find any humor in the airline industry. Airline attendants and pilots making an effort to bring a little enjoyment into what can be a stressful situation..

We are proud of our grandkids. All three of them are learning to type at the same time. With a mix of competition and incentives, they all be a gittin er done. Hurray for the efforts of each one of them. I know it's hard, but if they get to 40 words per minute, then they have done it. Never again in their lifetimes will they even be tempted to look at the keys. Some day people will not use the key boards to type words anymore. I am sure word recognition software will someday become a part of our daily lives. Till then everyone will just have to learn it the old fashion way, one memorized key stroke at a time.

Have fun with this week's new pages.

I had heard of Scientology, but really had no idea of what they were about. After many complaints about Scientology advertisements on our web sites, I had to check them out. Their web site looks nice and was enjoyable to visit, but looks can be deceiving. While reading about them at wiki. Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page is like an encyclopedia. They stick to the facts and don't add personal opinions. A very cool place to learn just about anything. After a bit of reading about Scientology, it is clear that they have a bad reputation. Scientology ads have been removed.
I apologize for having their advertisements on there.

April 11th, 2008

Hurray, the days are getting warmer here in Montana. We have daffodils and tulips finally making their way skyward. The birds are singing and all is well with the world today.

Time for all of us to try our best to fill our calendars with fun things to do. Sure hope we will make it to the Black Powder & Muzzle Loaders show this spring. Lots to see as they dress in old time clothing, leather and beads. What a great bunch of people, all hanging out camping and enjoying the old ways.

We hope you enjoy our new pages for this week.

Never Let Go.
And if you have the scars of His love on your arms, be very, very grateful,
He did not and will not ever let you go.

We don't normally send out links to other web sites, but this site will make you smile, laugh, and cry. Click on the years in your life and enjoy the best songs from each year. Goes from 1950 to 1982. They don't make songs like these anymore.

How about we all protest the price of gas by not mowing our lawns. And while we are at it, how about saving water by not watering either. Oh my, what will we do with all this extra time and money? April Fools! Or maybe not.
Becca would never go for this, as she has been longing for a little color in her life, after the long winter white.

March 28th, 2008

This summer we plan to spend a lot of time in Glacier National Park. We are documenting the entire park for our web site www.glacierparkinformation.com. This will be our third summer of taking photos and movies of all the wonderful places to go when visiting Glacier National Park. My favorite thing is to capture movies of the waterfalls and Becca enjoys all the wildlife. June will be here soon and then off we go. Hope to see you there.

In days of old when nights were cold
We'd sit around the fire
To see who was the biggest liar.

March 21st, 2008

Spring is here, and some of us will be coloring and displaying Mother Nature's perfect food for Easter. Many of us enjoy our eggs every day for breakfast, holiday or not. I think the egg is Mother Nature's perfect food; well almost, although it has somewhat of a bad rap for its cholesterol content. So, for all of us who love eggs whether we're celebrating Easter or Passover next month, here are a few fun Easter Facts.

- The first edible Easter bunnies were concocted in Germany in the early 1800s, and made of pastry and sugar.

- During Easter church ceremonies in the middle ages, the priest would toss a hardboiled egg to the boys in the choir. The boys would toss it from one to another during the service; whoever held the egg when the clock struck 12 was the winner.

- In Greece, eggs are dyed crimson to represent the blood of Christ. Slavic peoples decorate eggs in silver and gold.

Enjoy the following wonderful Easter pages below.

March 14th, 2008

Easter services have always been a favorite of mine. Many places around the country will have services held outdoors. Celebrating with joy, Christ’s rising from the dead. What could be more fun and inspiring then putting on your Easter bonnet and joining others for this glorious occasion.

And
He ascended into heaven…
There He waits for us…
We all will join Him once again…
If in His hands we place our trust…

This week's pages are sure to bring a smile to your face, and smiles are best shared with a friend.

Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity, hoppity,
Easter's on its way.

=======================

They placed the cross upon his back
Yet no one seemed to care
The weight across his shoulders
Seemed more then he could bear.

Thus
If we love him and follow him…
Tell all people of His word…
Put our faith within His hands…
Our every prayer is heard…
